September 24th, 2011 – SAVE THE DATE

Everybody we’ve talked to likes the idea of us having this party. It’ll be a party that combines the ski trip parties, the february celebrations and the scholar athlete nights of presentations. We’re going to honor and celebrate four of the most outstanding people that ever attended Cooper Union. As time goes along, we’ll include bios of each of these humble recipients.

The level of entertainment that will be performed that evening is spectacular. All of these former students have enjoyed performing in front of these demanding Cooper Union crowds. We’re sure you’ll enjoy this as much as they do.

We’ll also be honoring a couple of current scholar athletes which has led Alice Yang ChE’13 to say “It will be like the Academy Awards!” Only our ceremony will be classic in nature. We’ve partied a lot and you’ve worked extremely hard to make our program the best in the world and we want you to have a great time with a lot of great friends.  We’ve asked Jake Hughes E’13 to direct the evening’s festivities.  Jake has directed two of our talent shows in the last two years and he has willingly volunteered his services for the evening.

Anthony Ianno E’85 asked me how will these awards compare to those who are in the Hall of Fame. and I responded by saying we’ve created special awards over the past forty five years that represent greatness at the time and significance that will last a lifetime. In addition to Hall of Fame awards, we have the Dean’s list awards and outstanding yearly scholar athlete awards. The awards we’ll give out on Sept. 24th will be of a special nature because not only will their achievements at The Cooper Union be recognized but also how those achievements have helped their classmates, teammates and influenced their successes in life.

It’s a party, it’s a party and it’s a party. Come and spend a Saturday evening in a spectacular meaningful place with some of the greatest people that ever attended the best school in the world. We’re going to have a great time and we hope you can make a contribution to this great event.
